At Craighead, we understand that we all live in times of increasing change and complexity, it is vital that our students have  firm foundations in their search for values and attitudes. We have developed our curriculum to offer choice and opportunity, and together with our team of specialist teachers, passionate in their fields, we ensure our girls have the tools necessary to thrive, learn and grow to reach their full academic potential.

A key feature of our Senior School is the Year 11 Craighead Diploma, Te Tītohu o Craighead, designed to recognise and celebrate achievement both inside and outside the classroom, also providing a more balanced and meaningful Year 11 experience by reducing assessment pressure and allowing more time for deep learning.

Our Diploma ensures continuity of skills and knowledge in preparation for NCEA Levels 2 and 3, while offering a local curriculum that reflects our community, our Anglican Special Character, and the front end of Te Mātaiaho. Students engage in a well-rounded and robust programme grounded in Craighead’s founding principles, gaining confidence as learners and contributors.

Senior students have increased leadership responsibilities and are role models for our younger students. At Craighead service and leadership are valued through participation in co-curricular activities that help our students develop time management and inter-personal skills. 

At the end of their final year, our students leave as confident, resilient and spiritually aware young women. Life-long friends step forward together, ending one journey to begin another – well prepared to lead, serve, and thrive in whatever direction their aspirations take them.
