Teachers at Craighead Diocesan School are excellent practitioners and understand that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to learning.
Our Teachers acknowledge that the Universal Design for Learning provides opportunities for all students to access the curriculum, and they are well supported in planning and preparing for inclusive instruction.
All students are encouraged to achieve their personal excellence at Craighead Diocesan School. We offer a number of initiatives to support their learning and individual support is provided for those who need it most. This may be offered as in class support or in small groups. We also offer peer tutoring in Literacy and Numeracy. Our SENCo meets with small groups of students regularly in year 7 and 8, while Support Studies classes run alongside the girls’ regular timetables in years 9 and 10.
Support is offered to our Senior students (Years 11-13) through the Craighead Diploma, at Year 11, which offers a variety of learning and assessment opportunities, as well as through the Foundation Studies class. Foundation Studies (Years 11-13) allows for flexibility in learning and assessment, and also works as a class for students to get extra help where needed. This may be extra practice in Numeracy to become more confident in the CAA Assessment, or it could be focusing on work readiness and personal development skills.
