Our Boarding House is the heart of Craighead’s school campus — a lively, caring, and well-managed home away from home for around upto 130 students from both our wider local area and further afield.
With welcoming, skilled, and compassionate staff, we provide a high-quality boarding experience within a nurturing Christian atmosphere where a strong sense of belonging, acceptance, and mutual respect is fostered. Each Year group is supported by a dedicated supervisor who oversees the pastoral care and well-being of every boarder.
Boarding life at Craighead is built on connection and community. Through our Big Sister, Little Sister peer mentoring programme, new boarders are also supported by senior students, helping them settle quickly and feel part of our extended family. Lifelong friendships and a strong sense of camaraderie naturally grow from this shared experience.
Our modern boarding complex consists of two three-level wings:
Len Home Wing – generally housing our Year 7–10 boarders.
Senior Boarding Wing – home to Years 11–13, where Year 13 students enjoy single rooms with shared ensuites.
Each floor features comfortable bedrooms, family-style social spaces, modern kitchenettes, and well-appointed bathrooms — creating a warm and welcoming environment that feels like home.
The Boarding House is governed by the Board of Proprietors and managed by the Principal alongside our senior boarding management team. Policies align with those of the Board of Trustees and can be found under our School Policies and Procedures.
For more detailed information, our Boarding Handbook offers an excellent guide for parents and students to our boarding life and services.
