Middle School bridges the journey from Junior to Senior years, offering rich academic and co-curricular opportunities that build strong learning foundations, foster friendships, and inspire personal growth
Years 9 and 10 mark an exciting and important transition from Junior to Senior School. At Craighead, our Middle School programmes are designed to build confidence, deepen understanding, and equip students with the learning strategies and skills they need to flourish in their senior years.
With excellent teaching and high expectations, students are supported to extend their abilities while discovering new strengths. A rich balance of academic learning and co-curricular involvement ensures each student enjoys a well-rounded and fulfilling school experience.
Year 9 students begin with a dynamic ‘taster’ programme, giving them the chance to explore all of the optional courses we offer. By Year 10, students can personalise their learning further by selecting from a diverse range of subjects each semester, allowing them to follow their interests and broaden their horizons.
We warmly encourage students to take part in a wide variety of activities and individual pursuits.
Opportunities abound in sport, culture, the arts, and service, with many pathways nurturing personal growth, teamwork, and spiritual awareness.
Outdoor Education is a memorable highlight of the Middle School years. Early in Year 9, students head away on a camp designed to help them get to know one another and build new friendships. In Year 10, a week-long camp brings the cohort together again—this time with a focus on fun, participation, resilience, physical challenges, and co-operation. These experiences bookend the Middle School journey and help build strong, connected, and confident learners.
