Please ensure that you provide copies of your daughter’s birth certificate and evidence of citizenship or residency if applicable.

Once we have received your application your daughter’s name will be placed on our waiting list for the year of entry you have indicated she will start in. We will acknowledge receipt of your application via email and keep in contact with you with information about school events we think you may be interested in, with also personal invitations to our Open Days closer to the year your daughter is due to start.

Year 7 & 9 Enrolment Calendar

Our Enrolment process:

Commencing in April each year we contact all applicants on our waiting list with students wishing to start the following year.

At this point families are asked to confirm their interest, check all contact details supplied and is an opportunity to add further information to their daughters applications i.e. Church references, character references.

Open Day – This annual event, usually happening around mid to late May, will be widely advertised with personal invitations sent to families on our waiting lists.

This is a great event to attend for families considering secondary schools for their daughters. Current senior students guide visitors through the school and boarding facilities, visitors hear from our youngest students to our oldest students experiences of being a ‘Craighead girl’, along with an address from our Principal. Classes will be at work as visitors are guided around with opportunities to speak with teachers along the way or at the afternoon tea following the tour.

Meeting our Principal and/or Senior Leadership team:

During this period, which can last through September – October, appointment times will be made to invite our new students and their parents along to meet our Principal Ms Lindy Graham or a Senior Leadership member. These meetings are informal and a time for answering in further questions families may have. They are also an opportunity for families to offer further information that they feel we may need to know.

Year 9 Scholarships

Families, with daughters starting in the coming year, may be interested in applying for Year 9 Scholarships. There is a link to the Scholarship website page on the Homepage. Once the information has been updated for the coming year this link will be live for families to access. There are a number of Year 9 scholarships available each year, some have a particular focus i.e. cultural interests, academic or sporting interests.

Inauguration Day

Early in November each year we hold our Inauguration Day for our Year 7 and 9 students that will be starting school in the coming new year along with their families. An information pack on this event is sent home prior to this day. This special, and enjoyable, event in our School calendar brings together our new students and families to meet for the first time as a part of the Craighead family. The main aspects of this day are to inform families about Craighead, hearing from a variety of speakers, to show our Uniform (families have the opportunity also to purchase uniform, if they wish), and for students to meet their future classmates and take part in some fun activities. Families and students all enjoy a lunch together with Teachers, Senior Staff, Boarding Staff and Board members.

The Craighead Uniform is proudly worn by our students and it is expected of them to wear their uniform correctly, consistently displaying high standards in and out of the school grounds.

Our Uniform Committee, made up of a wonderful group of voluntary parents, run a shop where our Uniform can be purchased along with some additional items. We have an online ordering system for our Uniform on a dedicated Uniform webpage. Please click the ‘Uniform Webpage’ button to view ⇒

Our Old Girls’ Association run a Second Hand Uniform Shop, also located on campus, and usually opens the same time as the Uniform Committee’s shop hours.
